Water Services for Hempstead and Howard County Rural Areas
Southwest Arkansas Water System offers rural water services for new builds and existing meters throughout Hempstead and Howard Counties. We install water supply systems as well as providing maintenance and management services for those we install. This includes regular upkeep and emergency services, such as leaks. Southwest Arkansas Water System has provided rural water services to Arkansas residents since 2006.
Bills go out on the 28th of every month and must be paid by the 10th of the following month to avoid late fees. Bills must be paid in full by the 20th to avoid disconnection. Disconnections will happen the 21st. There is a $75 reconnect fee.
Payment Methods:
Debit & credit cards are welcomed at a $5 fee for every $100 charged. Automatic drafting is available as well from a checking account. Forms for auto drafts can be mailed, emailed or picked up from our office. There is also a drop-box for after hours available inside the front door.
Water Supply Systems
Water supply systems are essential to ensuring each house, farm, or business has clean, fresh water. We start with a water source which then gets pumped through different sets of pipes and a filtration system before ending up at the destination. Maintenance and Management
Southwest Arkansas Water System manages and maintains all of our taps. We provide routine maintenance as well as frequent check-ins to ensure that our systems stay running the way they should. One of our main jobs is providing dependable water to the rural areas of Hempstead and Howard County. If you see a suspected leak in the ditch or roadway please report to our office so we can determine if repairs are needed
Pricing for New Taps & Services:
- Regular Standard Tap: $1,260
- Road Cut on Gravel: Additional $500
- Road Bore on Asphalt or Highway: Additional $2,500
- Estimate is required to calculate the charges correctly & must have a septic tank permit or exemption from the health dept. before any work can be done (call the office for estimates & for more information on pricing with larger sizes).
Services for Existing Members
- Standard: $120 if there are no previous balances owed
- Larger Sizes: Call for more information on pricing with larger sizes
New Customers with an Existing Setter but no Meter:
- Standard size: $235 (please call for larger meters)
